Holidays are always a great time to learn something new. It might be adventurous, such as scuba diving or rock climbing, practical like cooking, or maybe just one of those things you’ve simply always wanted to do. We’ll be getting hands-on with all manner of new skills, and tempting you… to ‘Give it a Try’!
Many of us have tried something new whilst away on a trip, whether it was planned as part of a holiday or not. Often it’s just something that’s on offer in the area we are staying, such as a camel ride or quad biking safari. Other times it might be the focus of the trip itself, such as a painting holiday, or a cross-country skiing tour.
Our intrepid adventurers will be thrown in at the deep end, learning all kinds of new things, and bringing them to you in a light-hearted but informative way. Sometimes they’ll be a real pleasure, and activities that they instantly take to, but other times it will really push them to the limits. We’ve lined up things such as dog-sledding, tobogganing, car racing, sailing, cheese-making, ballooning, and even swimming with dolphins!
Whatever your own interests and aspirations, we’re sure to surprise you with ideas you hadn’t considered. And of course, we’ll also be tempting you… to ‘Give It A Try’.
Basic Programme Outline
Each episode will begin with the presenter introducing this episode’s topic, and explain where they are and what they will be attempting.
We will then follow them as they begin their task, hearing their thoughts, problems, frustrations and delight as they hopefully progress to achieving their chosen activity. We’ll also hear from those that might be teaching them, or learning alongside them.
The exact style and nature of each episode will depend very much on the destination and topic for that episode, but of course the prime focus will be on that light-hearted learner’s point of view, and for the viewer to see exactly what would be involved if they chose to Give it a Try.
