PASSPORT TO POLAND
Poland has always been a popular short break destination, with places such as Krakow, Wroclaw, and the capital, Warsaw, welcoming stag and hen weekends, or just classic city breaks. But what does Poland have to offer for a longer holiday? Alex Outhwaite is on a mission to find out.
It’s surprises from the very beginning, as Alex starts her journey with a balloon ride over the beautiful historic city of Krakow, and heads south to a salt mine where she takes a boat ride, and plays football, 200 metres underground! Rafting down a picturesque river gorge, and mountain biking high above a ski slope, also come as an exciting revelation.
The Baltic coast boasts stunning beaches and clear blue seas that would rival many on the Mediterranean, which allows Alex and unexpected day of sailing and diving. Traversing a nerve-wracking tree-top trail, getting stuck on an off-road driving course, and eating a foraged meal in the middle of a forest all add to the adventure.
And with more World Heritage sites than any other European country, there is no shortage of fascinating castles, colourful medieval cities, and magnificent natural landscapes. This is a journey you won’t want to miss, so join Alex for her Passport to Poland.
